The fans have spoken, and their Fan Fave Single is Selena Gomez’s “Wolves” featuring EDM artist and 2018 iHeartRadio MMVAs performer Marshmello.
“Wolves” was one of two new songs fans received from Gomez after her break from music in 2016 to deal with a flare-up of her Lupus. The melancholy track brings out the best in both artists, with Gomez’s vocals sounding strong and emotional throughout as Marshmello’s beat rises and falls to match the “heavy blue” in the pop singer’s lyrics.
The award makes it Gomez’s second iHeartRadio MMVAs win after taking home the award for Fave International Artist/Group back in 2014. Her collaborator Marshmello is also nominated at this year’s award show for Best EDM/Dance Artist or Group, Song of the Summer, and Best Collaboration for his Anne-Marie assisted track “FRIENDS.”
The 2018 iHeartRadio MMVAs, hosted by Awkwafina, features performances from 98 Degrees, The Beaches, Bebe Rexha, Brett Kissel, bülow, Meghan Trainor, Shawn Mendes, Kris Wu (吴亦凡), 5 Seconds of Summer, Alessia Cara, Halsey, and Marshmello featuring Anne-Marie.
